Research on Testing Method of Vacuum Resistance Performance of Multilayer Thermal Insulation Material for Low Temperature Vessel

   On December 5, 2020, the Guangdong Special Equipment Industry Association organized and presided over the scientific and technological project "Research on the Vacuum Resistance Performance Test Method of Multilayer Thermal Insulation Materials for Cryogenic Vessels" completed by Guangdong Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute in Foshan City. (No. 2015CY01) Achievement appraisal meeting.The appraisal committee listened to the report of the project undertaker and reviewed the results appraisal materials. After inquiries and discussions, the Appraisal Committee believes that the research results of this project have improved the testing technology of vacuum resistance performance of insulation materials for cryogenic vessels, reaching the domestic advanced level.

   The project designed a set of multi-layer insulation material vacuum resistance test device. The pressure on both sides of the material was tested by setting vacuum test elements inside and outside the multi-layer insulation material winding layer to obtain the material's vacuum resistance performance parameters. The test method of the developed device does not destroy the original insulation material structure, and the test accuracy is improved.

   The project uses a multi-layer insulation material vacuum resistance performance test device to carry out a quantitative study of the vacuum resistance performance of the multi-layer insulation material, and obtains the law of the influence of the winding layer thickness, layer density, and surface punching treatment on the vacuum resistance performance of the material.

   The vacuum resistance test device for multilayer insulation materials for cryogenic vessels developed by the project has been popularized and applied in industry.
